News in TopSolid'Cam 7.16

Also this year there are some important novelties for the TopSolid'Cam. We have summarized the new functions from the official English TOPSOLID video here:




1. New algorithms

Version 7.16 features new algorithms for automatic form channel processing through roughing, radial and longitudinal slitting and post-processing. There is also a new algorithm for automatic deburring of parts in 5-axis simultaneous machining.




2. Conciliation strategies

In addition, the software has been extended to include finishing strategies, including the integration of floor and wall finishing, for multi-axis pocket milling.




3. Turning operations in the YZ plane

Another novelty: Turning operations now also work in the YZ level (HDT FreeTurn):

4. Interpolation Rotation

With version 7.16, interpolation turning is now possible at the outer and inner diameters.

Sandvik Coromant's PrimeTurningTM method has also been integrated.




6. Contour scraping

Another important development is the new contour grinding:


Tool paths are automatically calculated depending on the selected component surface and blank shape, including plan processing and integrated island circumvention. The web adapts to the actual shape of the raw part to be processed and is automatically calculated on the entire circumference of the part. Simply select two surfaces to reduce the web to the desired area




7. New grinding strategies and tools

Version 7.16 has also been extended with four new dedicated grinding strategies and new grinding tools:


Grinding by face grinding

Looping by bypass

cylindrical grinding by face grinding

cylindrical grinding by contouring



8. Programming of probes

Programming of probes for different cycle types and different types of applications for determining origin, measurement cycles or control reports is now also possible.
